Supply Chain Management (SCM)is a process-orientated approach and is based on the value chain. SCM includes information about needs, times and material flows (with the help of PPS [production planning and control systems]) along the chain of delivery from supplier to the end customer. The goal is to optimize time and resorces. By concentrating on one’s own core competence while ensuring process, orientation it is possible to maintain a work-sharing chain of delivery.
